Marilynn & Co. is one of Southern California’s most experienced luxury home builders — serving Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, the Inland Empire, the San Gabriel Valley, and the desert communities of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley from our base in Covina.
Southern California is not one market. It is six counties with different terrain, different permitting jurisdictions, different fire exposure profiles, and different client expectations. A coastal bluff lot in La Jolla operates under California Coastal Commission rules that have nothing to do with how a hillside lot in Altadena gets permitted. An estate in Rancho Santa Fe goes through covenant review that does not exist in Temecula. A new build in Malibu carries fire risk considerations that are different in kind from a project in Irvine. Builders who work only one market understand one set of conditions. We have been working all of them for over 30 years.
Marilynn & Co. is based in the San Gabriel Valley — centrally located to serve the full Southern California region without the overhead of a large corporate operation. Our Founder
Anthony Ferro has spent 25 years as a Southern California firefighter. Not one county — the region. He has worked fires from Ventura to San Diego, in the canyons above Malibu, in the hillside neighborhoods of Los Angeles, in the mountain corridors east of Orange County, and in the communities along San Diego County’s wildland-urban interface. He knows how fire moves through Southern California terrain, and he built Marilynn & Co. around that knowledge.
Every home we build in Southern California gets specified the same way: Class A roof assemblies, ember-resistant vent detailing, non-combustible exterior materials where the site calls for it, and defensible space incorporated into the site plan from the start. This is not a premium option. It is our baseline — because Anthony has seen what happens when builders treat fire resistance as optional in a region where it is not.

We start with the site and the vision. Bring us the lot address, your ideas, and your questions. We walk the property, talk through what is realistic for the budget and timeline, and give you a straight picture of what the process involves before you make any commitments.

We work with your architect or ours to develop plans built around the site and around how you actually live. Materials, structural engineering, energy systems, and fire-resistant detailing all get resolved in this phase — before construction starts.

We manage the full permitting process across every jurisdiction we work in — LA County, Orange County, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura. Every county has its own process. We know all of them.

Our crews build with the same attention we bring to design. We communicate throughout, surface problems before they get expensive, and deliver a finished home built the way it was designed.
